BBJ Environmental Solutions Introduces Revolutionary Technology At The International Air-Conditioning Heating And Refrigeration Exposition
Tampa, January 23, 2002
BBJ Environmental Solutions (OTCBB: BBJE - news) is pleased to announce that the Company received a tremendous amount of interest on its major breakthrough technology, the Automated Clean in Place or ACIP system at the International Air-Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration (AHR) Exposition in Atlantic City. The January 14-16 AHR event, in conjunction with the winter meeting of American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), provided BBJ a showcase for its newest innovative technology. Bob Baker, CEO of BBJ Environmental Solutions stated, "This Expo is the single most significant industry event of the year with nearly 50,000 professionals attending, making it the fifth largest industrial trade show in the world each year."
The ACIP is an automated device that can be installed on any HVAC system and utilizes BBJ's proprietary line of products to keep it in a clean, like new condition. During normal operation, dust, insect parts, animal dander and other particulates carried in the air deposit on surfaces within air-conditioning units. The bacteria and mold spores deposited along with these particles grow and soon a thick coating forms that restricts airflow, interferes with heat transfer efficiency and amplifies to levels that release pollution into the air that is returned to occupied spaces. This is a major cause of poor indoor air quality along with all its unpleasant impacts.
A recent study revealed that home owners are not only concerned about the indoor environment, a majority are prepared to allocate a part of their budget to improving their indoor environment. Over 80% of the indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations conducted during the past ten years have included findings that the HVAC system air handling components are fouled with dirt, fibers, mold and bacterial growth. Cleanliness is so important because all air circulated in a building passes through the air handler portion of the system. If the components in the air handler are covered with gross filth, part of that contamination will be picked up in the air stream and carried to occupants. The impacts on health, comfort and well-being are obvious. This is a major problem that has been written extensively about in the industry literature during the past several years.
There are over 50 million air-conditioned homes in the United States and over 5 million new air-conditioning systems installed annually. Jerry Schinella, President of BBJ Environmental Solutions stated, "We believe that within five years the ACIP systems will be installed on one out of every 10 new units sold and retrofitted on one out of every 100 existing systems."
Mr. Baker further stated, "This show provided our sales personnel the opportunity to interact with professionals from all facets of the industry, including contractors, distributors, wholesales, engineers, deals, OEM's, representatives and building operators. BBJ attracted several Original Equipment Manufacturers that could offer ACIP as an add-on to equipment they manufacture. In addition, a large number of factory rep organizations and wholesale distributors visited our booth expressing the desire to take on our product line while contractors and building operators who had heard about BBJ during the past year wanted to take the opportunity to learn more about us and inquire about where they could purchase our products. This is further evidence of the success of our current business model."
