BBJ Environmental Technologies Reports Substantial Increase of 200% in First Quarter Revenues

Tampa, May 1, 2002

BBJ Environmental Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: BBJE - news) today announced that first quarter revenues from product sales increased 200% over the three months ended March 31, 2001. "Based on the increase in revenue of 200% during the first quarter and 41% in the last quarter of 2001, we anticipate our sales growth, assisted by expanded wholesale distribution, heightened Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) awareness and further EPA product approvals, to continue throughout 2002," stated Jerry Schinella, President of BBJ.

Mr. Schinella added, "The results are directly related to significant events including the hiring of a Director of Sales to initiate a change in the Company's sales and marketing strategy to primarily focus sales efforts on distributing our products through established national and regional wholesale distributors in the heating, ventilation and refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry. Our strategy is to gain entry into these distributors through a combination of our own outside sales force and manufacturer's representative companies that have an established relationship. This strategy has dramatically improved our presence in the marketplace. BBJ now has seven field sales personnel and eight manufacturing representatives covering 22 states and BBJ's product line is now being sold in over 200 wholesale locations through a number of regional and national wholesale distributors, such as: Johnstone Supply, Trane, Lennox, Comfortmakers, CC Dickson, Tropic, Victors, and Young Supply."

"I am encouraged by the increase in demand for IAQ products by consumers", stated Bob Baker, Chairman and CEO. "BBJ, along with industry associations and organizations, have raised consumer awareness which has lead to a demand for our products that improve the healthfulness of indoor environments, safeguards and protects families from the hazards of indoor air pollution while not damaging the environment, people or the equipment that is treated."

Revenues for the first quarter ended March 31, 2002 were $169,365, compared to $56,004 for the three months ended March 31, 2001, an increase of 200%. As a result of an earned stock bonus in the hiring of BBJ sales and support personnel to expand distribution and grow sales, total operating expenses increased to $500,827 for the three months ended March 31, 2002, compared to $433,059 for the three months ended March 31, 2001. For the three months ended March 31, 2002, the Company realized a loss of $386,581 as compared to $388,459 for the three months ended March 31, 2001. However, management is projecting that by the end of the third quarter of 2002, the Company will be approaching profitability.
