Tampa, June 18, 2002
BBJ Environmental Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: BBJE.OB - news) is pleased to announce that BBJ Environmental Solutions, Inc. has recently signed on Southland Marketing, Inc. ("SMI") as BBJ's newest manufacturing representative agency to carry BBJ Environmental Solutions' product line as their vendor for Indoor Air Quality ("IAQ") products to the HVAC/R industry. With SMI representing BBJ in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, plus parts of Kentucky and Mississippi, BBJ now has sales representation and product distribution in 24 states and Puerto Rico.
Jerry Schinella, President of BBJ stated, "With our sales force and another top agency group we continue to expand product distribution and promotion through HVAC/R wholesalers which we anticipate will greatly improve the significant 142% increase we have realized in year to date sales for 2002 over last year. As of today, BBJ has 10 manufacturing representative agencies covering 24 states and Puerto Rico. In addition, the Company also expects to introduce several new products in the coming months, which will add to our revenue base."
John Williams, President of SMI stated, "SMI has evolved into one of the fastest growing agencies in the Southeast serving the HVAC/R industry. Having over 100 years of outside sales experience combined with a seasoned inside staff, we represent leading HVAC and refrigeration suppliers of non-competing products to the commercial/residential/appliance distributor. As a sales agency, we offer product information, technical support and design assistance to the architectural and engineering community and to the mechanical contractor. SMI was built on a foundation of technical expertise, industry experience, customer focus and responsiveness. In addressing IAQ issues, we know that HVAC/R systems are breeding grounds for bacteria, various molds, algae, fungi and other airborne contaminants and that over 50 percent of all illnesses are caused or aggravated by polluted indoor air. The bacteria and fungi that can harbor in dirty systems can trigger everything from minor discomfort like itchy eyes and sinus problems to permanent nervous and respiratory damage and even death. With over 50 million residential HVAC units and more than 4.5 million commercial installations in the United States, the market for BBJ's products is enormous."
