BBJ Environmental Solutions' Robert Baker Receives Indoor Air Quality Association Product Technology Award
Tampa, October 30, 2001
BBJ Environmental Solutions, Inc. (OTCBB: BBJE - news) is pleased to announce that Robert Baker was honored at the Indoor Air Quality Associations' Annual Meeting and Exposition with the IAQA Product Technology Award for BBJ's environmentally friendly Indoor Air Quality products. Tom Yacobellis, founder of DUCTBUSTERS® and current President of the Indoor Air Quality Association stated "the selection of Bob Baker of BBJ was the only award that won the unanimous vote of all its members. Bob Baker is a national authority on the impact of bacterial and fungal contamination on indoor air quality, and the introduction of BBJ's newest products are very exciting. Increasingly, research is demonstrating cleaning and a clean environment is the most important variable impacting health. BBJ's role in maintaining a clean environment is a very positive message, especially in light of the recent bio-terrorism anthrax attacks."
During the past year, FreshDuct Odor Eliminator and Power Coil Clean were introduced into the HVAC/R marketplace. Fresh Duct encapsulates and destroys odors at their source. FreshDuct literally surrounds the enzymes that are the source of the malodor and destroys them on contact, leaving fresh, deodorized air in ducts, basements, attics, crawl spaces and any area prone to odors. "Ventilation system related odors affect everyone," states CEO Bob Baker. "They cause building occupants to complain about everything from mild irritation to nausea and worse. FreshDuct's unique, environmentally friendly technology breaks down these odor molecules at their source." In regards to Power Coil Clean, Bob Baker commented that, "Power Coil Clean cleans like acid cleaners without the hazards. There are no harmful effects to the system, the technician, the occupants of the space, or the environment. Most acid and alkaline cleaners on the market today clean in part by causing a chemical reaction between the cleaner and metal that causes pitting, etching, and corrosion of surfaces. These corrosive and caustic substances also emit toxic gases when applied. BBJ's goal was to develop a cleaner with the same powerful cleaning action, but without the damaging effects of these cleaners."
The Indoor Air Quality Association ("IAQA") was established in 1995 to promote uniform standards, procedures and protocols in the Indoor Air Quality industry. Committed to education and research, the association serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas within the emerging IAQ industry. The goals of IAQA are to promote professional growth among IAQ practitioners serving the residential and commercial community; to provide hands-on training of practitioners using proper diagnostic tools, testing devices and techniques for identifying thresholds of residential or commercial buildings; to serve as a forum for members to share knowledge and address problems within the IAQ industry; to recommend building design techniques and equipment useful when constructing, remodeling or remediating a residential or commercial building in hot, humid climates; to educate and certify HVAC Hygienists to serve the public in a knowledgeable, professional and ethical manner; and to serve as expert witnesses before the government when legislation is proposed.
