Dirty Sock Syndrome

This is often associated with heat pumps. When the heat pump goes into defrost mode the evaporator coil slightly warms. Microbial growth that has accumulated on the evaporator coil begins to simmer producing very offensive odors. This can be very frustrating to the occupant because the odors may appear at anytime. The evaporator coil should be cleaned with Power Coil Clean and then treated with Mold Control for HVAC Systems every 6 months.
